in Alcohol Rehabilitation, Attending church 3 X a week, He secured his healing, The journey in your mind, Uncategorized
Faith requires that you take a journey in your mind, That you begin to think differently, to talk differently, to take control. I was speaking to a young man who is recovering from alcoholism of over two decades and I asked him if he was aware that back in the 1800′s they called alcohol spirits? He was aware of it and then I asked him if he knew why that was. Then we talked about Alcoholics anonymous and what they’re actually teaching based upon his interpretation of the meetings he’s attended. Our conclusion was that they were encouraging him to take a journey in his mind so that he could regain control.
We talked about how important it was for him to regain control of his mind and his future since his cessation of out of control drinking. Faith is so intertwined in his experience. Part of his rehabilitation has him in church at least three times a week, sitting under the teaching of the Word of God. This experience has strengthened him immensely. It has made his journey so palatable and as a result he’s been able to him him get and secure his healing. All because he was willing to take the journey in his mind. That journey had been a long time coming.
