Bloggercise by Elaine Davenport (Tuesday, June 12, 2007)

People ask me all the time: “What is a Blog?” I try to answer but I found a great definition, I’d love to share. Here it goes:

Web log, a blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author.

(v.) To author a Web log.

Other forms: Blogger (a person who blogs).

SOMETHING THAT I NOTICED

I’ve also noticed that many Blog sites have sections that allow commentary or feedback; which oftentimes is extremely helpful. Unfortunately, on the internet there are people who will place negative comments on a site. I’ve even seen sites where the writers appear to be mired down in a fierce firestorm of comments that are opposing the commentary. They may call it healthy debate. Each to their own.

I GUESS YOU WOULD CALL THIS A NON TRADITIONAL BLOG

This Blog is “not” about me or my personality. I am unimportant. I’m just a messenger. My purpose is to get the Word of God out in the most effective way possible. I only even put my name on my Blog because I’ve read that without it ; people cannot give credibility to the site.

I’ve not set it up for dialog, but to disseminate information; though dialogue will not be rejected. My ultimate goal is to have one site where seven Blogs that I write are all accessible. It isn’t easy to maintain four Blogs, but with God’s grace, I will maintain seven of them. I am dedicated to doing this. Praise God!

THIS IS A FAITH BLOG…

This is not only a Healing Blog; but it is also a Faith Blog. The purpose is not only to Honor God, but to help people build up their faith for anything that they need it for. You determine what that need is.

This is my assignment and I take it quite seriously. I take God quite seriously. I have reverential fear of God. I love Him and He comes first.

Most Writers

Most writers love feedback; it’s like the milk in a baby’s bottle for lack of a better analogy. I’m not saying writers are babies, but merely illustrating the interdependency between the subjects. Please understand that the milk is a vital nutrient for the baby, but the baby likes it as well. Some more than others. Smile. I think all writers go through stages with this, especially when they write something new. Much commentary helps shape the writers thoughts and may in some cases “sharpen” a writers pen.

There’s always a reluctance to be different;

As a faith blogger, I am aware that I’m in a small sub group of bloggers, but it’s okay. On top of that; to resist the temptation to engage in dialog makes this site even more non traditional. However, comments are not only welcome, but it is challenging to answer all of them at four different Blog sites, but it always gets done. Thanks for your patience.

COMMENTS ARE MODERATED; NOT MODIFIED

The few comments that we receive are read before being placed on the site. None have ever been rejected. It appears that the traffic that God is sending is solely interested in acquiring information. When it appears otherwise, we’ll put prayer on our course of response.

However, this is where Trusting God comes in…

Since this is an informational site, as many are; our reliance is on God alone to send the people and not upon ourselves. It’s been an amazing journey and very rewarding!

THIS IS OUR MISSION

I thank you for your understanding and your prayers. Blessings and Love
