The Devil is going to be so sorry that he ever tried to tangle with you! by Elaine Davenport (Friday, August 24, 2007)

From the “Word for the Day” series………….

3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

This seems like such a simple verse. It’s God talking to each of us telling us that above everything else, He wants His children to prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. That begs the question: “What is the soul? Well, the soul consists of the mind, (the way you think), the will (your own personal decisions and choices concerning you) and the emotions (your feelings.)

I am sure that someone has thought of this before but JUST THINK: God is saying He wants things to get better for you! He wants you to be in health AND he wants your thoughts, your choices and your feelings to be at the same level. He wants you to have a great balance; one that you can cope with regarding your health and your life.

How do I know that He wants you to be in good health?

That is so easy! You can’t prosper if you aren’t in good health. Here’s what prosper means:

prosper – make steady progress; be at the high point in one’s career or reach a high point in historical significance or importance; “The new student is thriving”

flourish, fly high, thrive

Can you flourish if you’re unhealthy? NO

Can you fly high if you’re unhealthy? Unlikely

Can you thrive if you’re in bad health? I’d think there would be some limitations imposed upon you.

Now, I don’t know about you, but there was a time when I really didn’t know God wanted me well, healthy, whole and healed. But, when I found out; I became dangerous. I decided right then that: “oh, the devil is going to be sorry that he ever messed with me! I’m loose and my words are loose and I’m confessing healing all over the place! You can too.

What does Proverbs 4: 20-22 say?

It says:    My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. THESE ARE HEALING WORDS

* Please don’t read this once and say: Bless God, that’s nice, but grab hold of your bible…open it up and make it a part of your daily life. Make God a promise to get in His Word, to stay close, to find out His perfect will for your life. Make a change, take control; don’t give up!

* Funny thing about the devil; if he could really be dangerous to you, he wouldn’t have to try to use reverse thought tactics all the time. Remember that.
