Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

I had jumped on a Continental Airlines flight to visit a church in Texas a few years ago. It was evident as soon as the plane landed that the devil was trying to make it a trip that I would never forget. Every taxi wanted a minimum of $50.00. They explained that we were so far away. Our friendly cab driver explained that every time that we needed to get to church it would cost us a lot of money; but he would try to give us a “special” deal. We were thinking: “Oh what a Blessing!” It wasn’t long before we discovered the truth. The ride from the airport actually turned out to be less than ten minutes; but with all of the talking (smoke and mirrors) that the cab driver did I did not originally notice.

We began to look for a believer. We knew that if we could just find a believer; we’d be okay. We began to pray for God to send a believer to cross our paths. We actually were walking through the hotel gardens when I saw a man and a woman with a small baby. I felt led to walk up to them to tell them that I was going to the church that I had come to town to visit. The strangers began to scream! Yes scream. They were going there too and the man was a minister. They offered to drive us and did so the entire time that we were there. They took us to church three times instead of once and even out to dinner and back to the airport when it was time to leave. The night before I left, I got very ill. I’m thinking now that it was perhaps the food that we ate and even more. I began to ache all over and I had chest pains and my head was aching horribly. I was at a hotel in a strange town with no way to get to the hospital. I needed to find a believer! My roomate was a true believer but she was snoring loudly and she couldn’t hear me calling her. So, I remembered that “I” am a believer! I laid hands on myself and pronounced that By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed! I believe I receive! And then I went to sleep. The next morning, I was fine and the ride to the airport was great! We had found some believers and God had arranged it. It was a trip that I’ll never forget. I had victory over the devil.
