Faith 911! by Elaine Davenport (Friday, September 21, 2007)

Operator: 911, 911

Caller: (Out of breath in a high pitched voice) Is this 911? ( Doesn’t wait for an answer) Yes, operator; I’d like to report a shooting. My friend was working; she’s a writer, she got carried away and before she knew it she had shot herself in the foot.

Operator: Oh My! Miss, if you’ll tell me where you live; we can send an ambulance right out. Is it bad?

Caller: We’re at 33777 Uphill Road athe corner of Faith Street. Our street light is out but we’ll leave the front door open. No, it looks like a surface wound; it was an accident. How long will it be?

Operator: Well, it’ll be about eight minutes; they’re enroute to the scene. You know you have to use firearms carefully; was she properly trained?

Caller: No, she taught herself.

Operator: That’s too bad. No wonder. She should have followed the instructions in her training guide. She better be glad that it wasn’t worse! Well, she’ll be out of commission for a while. What’s your friend’s name?

Caller: Her name is Faith, …Faith Blogger (she spells it out)

Operator: Okay, that’s interesting. Well tell Faith to take it easy, the medical team should be pulling up in a couple of minutes.

Caller: Thank you so much, I’ll tell her.

Operator: You’re Welcome, take care miss.

(FICTIONAL SCENARIO)

Do your best to present yourself to God as a tried-and-true worker who isn’t ashamed to teach the word

of truth correctly.

2 Timothy 2: 15

A Mini- Treatise…

Oh whoa is the Internet for those of faith. It’s already a dark world with streets and alleys and dead end roads that we don’t want to find. We set up shop in neighborhoods that we can’t even see. We don’t know who we live next door to; we just have to remember our mission and pray that those that knock on our doors will find, not our opinions; but the Word. It’s the Word that counts, it’s alive. The world can never understand that; but we are not of this world. It seems like it’s so easy for people to get their eyes off God under the guise that it is for God when they write. No, I’m not the moral police. God is. Faith Bloggers are a rare species. We walk a narrow path. Yet, don’t lose your focus because it’s not about the writer, the messenger, the blogger at all; it is about God. I encourage each of us to seek the Word of God for backing on all of our dialogue. That proves that what we’re saying is biblically based and not world based. God is watching us all. That’s all. Blessings

(Hebrews 10:25 NIV) Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
