Psalm 27: 14
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.
I have been in need of prayer many times. One day; the Lord Blessed me and I learned how to pray for other people and also proactively. As a result of my praying so much, I developed a confidence that my prayers would always be answered and they always are. Sometimes the answer comes quickly within hours or maybe within a day. However, sometimes I’ve had to wait for God to do some things.
I can remember so vividly when I first came to Christ and reconnected after a long hiatus in the wilderness in which the devil whooped up on me big time every chance he got. I wasn’t a big prayer then. In fact, I had been raised to believe that the stuff that mattered to me was too petty too little to bother God with. God waited on me to get myself together to come and take a close walk with Him. He was more than patient. I always try to remember that when I’m waiting on Him.
Another thing I remember was when I used to be so excited about God in the beginning of “our” walk together. I had so much fervor, fire and anticipation; it was contagious. I was faithful and nothing got in my way. If God said He would do something or promised me in His word; I never faltered; I never doubted; I expected it! I’m on fire for God! No one can tell me what He won’t do! No one!
I’ve given myself a tune up on the fire, fervor and anticipation. I’ve reinforced myself spiritually and mentally by staying in the Word of God. I study, I meditate. I avoid distractions. I wait in full expectation. My words say: “It sure is exciting to sit back and watch God do this thing for me; I can’t wait to see it all unfold before my eyes!” How about you?
