Healing Tag! by Elaine Davenport (Thursday, April 24, 2008)

This won’t take long. I got a healing breakthrough today and it was quite by accident. I called two friends not to pray and I know that they were surprised. Both have been under attack in health challenges. One of my friends recently “heard” a proclamation from the doctor and had appeared to be down about it. I did not allow her to tell me what “they” said. I don’t deny the existence of sickness and disease. I just deny the ability for either of them to live on me or anyone that I am instructed to stand in the gap for. I don’t have to know them…I just have to hear about it.

I decided to play a game of “Healing Tag” with each of them. I use the word play…but I was for real. I asked them each for ten minutes a day. This is what I did: I read them healing scriptures and I explained each one. In the midst of it all…I received the impact at the same time. For the first time in I don’t know when…symptoms of a disease that Satan has been trying to afflict me with…TOTALLY DISAPPEARED! My friends were Blessed and we all agreed to do this everyday…yep, I have a busy schedule…but I’ll make time.

The bible says…that you have a harvest coming from the things you plant. Plant some Healing Seed today…play Healing Tag with someone …and don’t forget…it’s for real!

Daily Prayers Are Heaven’s Stairs (Sunday, April 21, 2008)

Daily Prayers are Heaven’s Stairs The “Stairway” rises “Heaven high”- The “steps” are dark and steep, In weariness we climb them As we stumble, fall and weep… And many times we falter Along the “path of prayer” Wondering if You hear us And if You really care… Oh, give us some assurance, Restore our faith anew, So we can keep on climbing The “Stairs of Prayer” to You- For we are weak and wavering, Uncertain and unsure, And only meeting You in prayer Can help us to endure All life’s trials and troubles It’s sickness, pain and sorrow, And give us strength and courage To face and meet tomorrow! – Unknown

Scared…by Elaine Davenport (Monday, April 14, 2008)

Matt.8: 26: And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

As you sit dealing with whatever it is that you’re facing, you’re probably having some of the same thoughts that I had. You just want it to go away.. You really aren’t looking for a long faith adventure, but you’ll take that over the often deadly or devastating diagnosis you’ve been given. Now people are at different faith levels granted there are people who will immediately understand that it’s warfare and an attack and they know what to do.

However, if you are like me, when I was struck with a deadly diagnosis; I just wanted it to go away and I was “scared.” Yes, I said the “S” word. It wasn’t until I got hold of the Word of God and found out that Jesus had already healed me when he got up on that tree…I just needed to believe it. There was no need to be scared. None at all.

Secrets! by Elaine Davenport (Sunday, April 13, 2008)

You’ve just been diagnosed with a serious illness…the thought comes to your mind: “Tell no one.” That thought could kill you.

I’ll tell you why that’s not such a good idea. It’s an act that’s out of faith and it can isolate you and be devastating to you.

In our society it is typical behavior amongst many people to keep it a secret when we receive a bad report from the doctor. Some people have it worst than others. We need a balance in life; it’s in our best interest to avoid extremes. I don’t know of any stories in the bible where people were sick and said: “No one is to know.”

In fact, quite the opposite; people were healed because they went publicly to Jesus himself to get healed or someone else came to get their healing for them. Their decision not to keep their illness or disease a “secret” is what saved them. Secrets are no good to anyone when it comes to getting your healing.

Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. James 5: 16 Amplified Bible

Do What The Word Says! by Elaine Davenport (April 12, 2008)

The Word on Healing won’t work if you hear it.  Don’t panic…hearing isn’t enough.  God said so.  Going to hear it and thinking  about it won’t work.  That’s a fact.

You must hear it and do it.    The Word of God says a lot…try to make a list.  Here’s a partial one:

1. Stand.

2. Put on the Shield of faith.

3. Put on the breastplate of righteousness.

3. Put on the Belt of truth.

4. Put on the Helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit.

5. Let your feet be shod with the gospel of the preparation of peace.

6. Say unto this mountain “Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea.”

The list goes on and on, but are you doing it?    If you do, you’ll get results.

King James Version.

James 1:22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:23  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

James 1:24  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

James 1:25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Notice that it says, if you “hear” the Word, you’ll forget it.  If you do it you’ll be Blessed in your “deed”.  Your deed is your effort to be healed.  Amen.
