Whose Fault Is It? by Elaine Davenport Sunday, October 11, 2009

I was helping my husband do lawns  one day and a young woman drove up in a car and asked if we could come by to her and her husband a price quote for her lawn to be cut and edged.  That was three years ago, and we ultimately became very good friends.  It was a Divine connection but neither of us knew it at the time.  The one thing that we had in common was that we both loved the LOrd and we would come to share great information about our journey to eternity.

Sylvia is a really young woman with her head on straight.  Everyday she sings to the Lord for a few hours and doesn’t miss.  When she finds herself home alone, she rushes to spend time with God.    I have no problem in  mentioning that she is a Baptist.  And of course, for some people they might think that Baptist people aren’t that serious about God.  I know it’s not true because that’s where I learned that God is real and that faith is too!  I’m doing something different now, but I believe that when God connected me as Sylvia’s friend He was trying to show me something.

Sylvia opened her own business and immediately it began to boom.  She and her husband put the time in to get before God daily and He literally orders their steps.  They don’t miss it to the left or to the right.  They don’t procrastinate either.  They are a wonderful; example.

I talk to a lot of people who miss it.  I almost did many times.  Mainly because it is easy to be influenced by others because God’s instructions to them are likely to be extremely different from His instructions to you.  If you follow your friend’s suggestion and ignore what God has asked you to do…I guarantee you’ll miss it.  And in the end, you’ll have to ask yourself:  “Whose fault is it?”

Rescued From The Grave! by Elaine Davenport Thursday, October 8, 2009

Rescuedlp

Psalm 107:20
He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

After discussing my own funeral with my husband; I had an awful taste in my mouth.  I just wanted to burst out crying, but God wouldn’t let me.  After I pulled my medical reports from one of the best hospitals in the state, I was torn up inside.

But, something came over me and I felt like I needed to hide that report.  So I found the tallest cabinet in the house, got up on a stool and threw it up there.  It said that I had a very rare form of cancer and the outlook was awful!    So rare in fact that it only affects one percent  of the population…why me?

I stepped up my prayer life and began to read and meditate in healing scriptures around the clock.  I began to listen to Gospel music.  I began to really read the bible and church was something that I couldn’t get enough of.  The doctor said I had no time for a second opinion.  I got four more opinions.

Truth be told…I only needed  one opinion…that was God’s opinion and that would be the only one that would count!    I ended up getting The Holy Ghost in my kitchen.   By the time for my surgery, the team of pathologists were very much unwilling to readily declare that the suspicious tissue was not cancer.  By the time they conceded; I had received two blood transfusions….I survived… and kept my promise to serve Him.   I love  serving God  … and I won’t be deterred!

Healing Word For The Day by Elaine Davenport Sunday, October 4, 2009

Healing

Psalm 103: 3 “Who  forgiveth all thine iniquities; who HEALETH ALL thy diseases.”

The greatest lies the devil tells is to people that are sick or who think they are sick.  I know.    The devil has a “helluva” memory!    That’s his territory!  He can recall your worst sin.  And he’s going to pounce that on you whenever he can and especially if you are facing a health challenge!  He’s good at making you think it’s all your fault and that each day that sin is getting worse and worse.  So bad in fact, that he’ll make you think you deserve to be sick, that God won’t heal you and that  you probably won’t make it and it’s your fault.

IT’S ALL A LIE!!!!  God says he forgives ALL of your sins and that He heals all of your diseases.  There is not ONE disease that God can’t heal.  That’s why when people ask me tPo pray for someone who is sick; I don’t want to know how bad it is.  And many times, our prayer crew has prayed without knowing what it is.  I believe God and not man.  You can too!
