2014: Wipe The Slate Clean! By Elaine Davenport January, 2014

AAACLEANSLATE

Happy New Year’s From Cafe Sozo!    Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to tell you something worthwhile as a result of your doing so.

Insurance companies often call catastrophes acts of God!   That’s a lie!  So unfortunately some people think that when bad things happen to them; it’s God‘s fault.  Not true.

Most of us are totally unaware that we have sickness in our bodies, in our minds, in our families , in our bank accounts…and the list goes on…even spiritually.  That fact the a person has gone to church for ten, twenty, thirty years or so is no guarantee of (spiritual) sharpness; yet if you walk into any church…you can easily find people who act or believe it’s about loyalty… to the church or pastor or belonging to a clique.  God doesn’t quite see it that way…so there is healing (and correction needed)

Physically many carry sickness in their bodies for years without detection until they get the news.  While others ignore warning symptoms operating in delusion or denial.

Financially, many people live over their means, buying things they cannot afford until the monthly payout far exceeds what comes in.

We live in a society where people want quick answers, take shortcuts and often find themselves in a position where pressure is being applied upon them as individuals even if it’s not their fault.

With all of these scenarios…God has answers.  He can heal you, me, the situations and give us a way out.   Just say a prayer and ask for help.  That’s the first step.

Exodus 23:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
You shall serve the Lord your God; He shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your midst.

Deuteronomy 7:15 Amplified Bible (AMP)
And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you knew will He put upon you, but will lay them upon all who hate you.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live and may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Joshua 21:45 God’s Word Translation
Every single good promise that the LORD had given the nation of Israel came true.

1 Kings 8:56 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Blessed be the Lord, Who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all His good promise which He promised through Moses His servant.

Psalm 89:34 God’s Word Translation
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Psalm 91:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Psalm 103:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,

Lord Heal My Heart! By Elaine Davenport November, 2013

AAHEARTBROKEN

Most of the time that we speak of healing, we are talking about sickness and  disease in relation to things sometimes and sometimes not treatable by a medical doctor.  But one of the subjects that we do not often enough speak of is:  a broken heart.   Yet. we all have faced it at one time or another.

Broken relationships,  Family inflicted pain, unexpected loss, severed friendships, unexpected aggression,  business dead ends,  financial woes,  bad decisions, being naive, fractured trust, misunderstandings….

We have to be so careful…but we have the freedom…and the right to say:

Lord…I give it all to You…it’s a faith thing!

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 14:13 ESV

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Mark 11:23 ESV

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.

Hearing From God! by Elaine Davenport September 30, 2013

I wrote this article for one reason only. To ask you a question.  Can you Hear From God?

There are three answers:  yes,no  and sometimes.  The last answer is the most challenging.    Yes, all the time must be our answer and this is true even if we have to work harder.

The natural man wants to work alone without direction.  So, if you make up your mind to hear what God has to say you can expect distractions.

If you can’t hear anything at all…I challenge you to find out why.

In these tough times, hearing from God is more critical than ever!healing-and-restoration

Resurrection Day Is A Day To Celebrate! March, 2013

Have No Fear!

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

The Fullness of His Grace! February, 2013

John 1:14-18 (#1 of 18 Bible Verses about Grace)
14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ ” 16From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

Memorial Day…Is a Special Day! May, 2012

On rhe last day of May in the United States of America we celebrate Memorial Day.  It is a day that we celebrate our soldiers past and present.  It is  now officially observed on the last Monday in May.  At our church they ask anyone who is a Veteran to stand and every claps.  It is a warm robust moment.  It’s also a little teary eyed for many of us who have lost loved ones or whose heart strings are tugged just thinking about the love, faithfulness and sacrices of those who served our country and the depths of that service.

I am a patriot.  I love my country, but more than that I am proud of those who have and do love our country so much so that they would serve in any capacity in our Armed Forces!  It sure makes me thankful and grateful for their service.

I found the Following article ….it’s great….

Soldier of God

G.I.
God Incarnate
Saviour of the world

I am a soldier in the army of my God. The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer. The Holy Scripture is my code of conduct. Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity. I will not get out, sell out, be talked out or pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable. If my God needs me, I am there. I am a soldier. I am not a baby. I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up, or pepped up. I am a soldier. No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me or lure me. I am a soldier. I am not a wimp. I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name and building His kingdom! No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards or candy, or give me handouts. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or catered to. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around. I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.

When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will still come out ahead. I will win. My God has and will continue to supply all of my need. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ. The devil cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me, and hell cannot handle me. I am a soldier. Even death cannot destroy me. For when my Commander calls me from His battlefield, He will promote me to captain and then allow me to rule with Him. I am a soldier in the army, and I’m marching claming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around.

I am a soldier, marching heaven-bound. Here I Stand! Will you stand with me?

The army of the Lord is an all volunteer force. No one will be drafted, and those who serve will do so eagerly rather than grudgingly. That army will make up “the body of Christ” (1Corinthians 12:25-27). We are to be “a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3-4). We are to “put on the whole armour of God” (Ephesians 6:10-11).

Romans 13:12, “…let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”

Know your enemy: The “wiles of the devil” is our enemy, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:11-12, 2 Corinthians 10:3). People are not your enemy, we are not to fight against one another. The things of the world are our enemy (James 4:4, Romans 12:2, 1 John 2:15, Luke 16:15).

A good soldier knows his weapon. We are to take the “helmet of salvation” and “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17). When Jesus said, “…I came not to send peace, but a sword ” (Matthew 10:34), He didn’t mean a literal sword. He came to set men striving for a better world with a soldiers fervor and force of spirit.

Know your weapon: “study to show thyself approved unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15). Know your weapon: we are to “search the scriptures” (Acts 17:11, Luke 16:29, Isaiah 8:20; 34:16), and compare scripture with scripture (Isaiah 28:10) to come to the Truth. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God” (2 Corinthians 10:4). “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him” (Proverbs 30:5, Ephesians 6:16). We are to put on the “breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:14), and our “feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace” (Ephesians 6:15).

A good soldier stays in step. We are to walk in the “same steps as Christ” (2 Corinthians 12:18, 1 Peter 2:21). And most important, our secret weapon: we are to be “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18), so that you may “open your mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:19). “We are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37). We are “fellowsoldiers” (Philippians 2:25, Philemon 1:2).

“A man may have to die for our country, but no man must, in any exclusive sense, live for his country. He who surrenders himself without reservation to the temporal claims of a nation, or a party, or a class is rendering to Caesar that which, of all things, most emphatically belongs to God; himself.” C.S. Lewis.

I’ve Got A Really Good Question For You! by Gene McGuire December 8, 2011

“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” (2 Cor. 2:15)
DO YOU STAY IN THE BIBLE REGULARLY ENOUGH SO THAT YOU CAN BE THE OVERCOMER THAT GOD INTENDED FOR YOU TO BE ?
___________________________________________________________________________
COMMENT: Some time ago I opened up my Bible and a very pleasant aroma greeted my nostrils. I was really startled for a moment. Had the Lord worked something supernatural with my Bible? Then the truth dawned on me and I had a big laugh at myself. The day before I was reading the Scriptures at the Laundromat; having misplaced my book mark, I used one of my scented fabric softeners. However, that incident reminded me of our Lead Scripture. The illustration is not too far off base because 2 Corinthians 3:3 informs us that “clearly you are an epistle of Christ [a letter from Christ], ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” Our godly behavior should be the sweet fragrance that will attract others to the Kingdom of God.
SCRIPTURE STUDY: Matthew 5:13-16
WISE SAYING: BE CAREFUL, YOU MAY BE THE ONLY BIBLE THAT SOME PEOPLE WILL EVER READ.
Sincerely Yours, Gene McGuire
