YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! by Elaine Davenport November 1- November 8, 2009

NEVER ALONE

There’s a whole lot of faith in a room full of people when the shouting and the praising is going on.  And when the truth of God’s Word is being preaching, I mean c’mon….great faith abounds.

But, what do you believe when tragedy or trouble hits?  What kind of faith do you have then?      When you think you’re all alone…what kind of faith do you have?

GUESS WHAT THE ANSWER IS….YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.

The greater One…God…lives on the inside of you.  No other faith can claim this; but Christians can.  Do not settle for less!

How many times have you been revived? by Elaine Davenport (Tuesday, August 28, 2007)

Psalm 138:7 (King James Version)

King James Version (KJV) Public Domain

Psalm 138: 7

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

I’ve had some great days and I’ve been in the think of the battle. Perhaps you have too. Let’s just focus for a minute. When you are really in trouble; you just have to stay the course; and give it to God. When you do this; remember that He’s working out your troubles and you can’t “see” what He is doing. A lot of people have trouble with this.

I HEARD A VERY UNUSUAL STORY YESTERDAY….

Normally, I won’t talk about controversial subjects. My good friend was given the book called: The Secret. She’s a faith person and very objective and decided to give it a try. It isn’t a book that I have read; nor am I interested in reading it. I am not slamming the book. As a writer; I am very selective about what I read and it’s not in my realm of selected topics at this time. My friend said there was a part of the book that caused her to be unrealistic about faith. She said it was something about Genie thinking or something like that. She is a long time friend and a person of excellent report and character with an impeccable reputation.

My friend is highly educated and smart. She has always dreamed of becoming a secret shopper. She ended up applying online for some jobs and soon after got a letter in the mail inviting her to become an Online shopper. At some point these people offered her a job and sent her a check for $3500.00. They told her they were going to give her $600.00 up front and that they wanted her to mail them two checks. One for $1700 and the other for $1300. Well, my friend is a very cautious person so when she went to the bank; she went to great lengths to explain to them that she really didn’t want the money until it was actually there. She explained to them that the check came as a result of an internet job and she only wanted to take the money out when it was actually there. Apparently she explained it many times and they assured her that the money was there.

She told me that her entire family told her this was a scam. One by one they each weighed in on it. She said she told them: “This is a Blessing from God!” She said she “felt” she was so exuberant because of what she read in the book. I understand this, but I realize that we all are responsible for the decisions we make regardless of how we are influenced. After my friend took the money out of her account; the bank sent her a notice saying the check didn’t clear. Then they began to call her and make her feel guilty as though she were a part of the scam.

Now, she told me all of the mail came from Canada and that she talked to a foreigner on the phone when she called for more information. It was set up for her to prove that she was an honest person. It was like an employment test of sorts.

For her; this was great trouble which caused her to backtrack to defend herself and involve the police. She was horrified when the bank initially treated her as if she were a criminal instead of a victim.

She prayed at the first sign of trouble. She stayed in faith; despite her circumstances.

One day she was led to call her bank to discuss her case..

She got a great surprise. It seems that they recorded her conversations with the bank tellers and they heard her say: I don’t want the money until it is actually there. Because of that they mysteriously dropped the charges and put her account back in good standing. God is faithful. He always come through. No matter what you are facing; God can fix it.

GODBACKING! by Elaine Davenport (Saturday, August 4, 2007)

There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful who sill not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10: 13

Father, you are a Loving God. It is my prayer this day that You will strengthen me and guide me. Father, I pray that in the day of temptation that I will get stronger and stronger. I will not be weak. I will praise You all the day long. I thank You for making a way when it seemed like there was no way. Thank you Lord. Amen.

FAITH THOUGHT: THINK OF A TIME WHEN YOU WERE SO DETERMINED TO GET WHAT YOU WANTED AND REMIND YOURSELF THAT THIS TIME YOU HAVE GOD BACKING YOU WITH AN ARMY OF ANGELS AND REALIZE THAT WHAT YOU FACE IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! NO WAY!

WAKE UP WORLD! by Elaine Davenport (Friday, May 18, 2007)

HANDCUFFED BY UNBELIEF

A lady that I don’t know has cancer. I’ve seen her. Each time that I see her she’s smaller and smaller. It looks like she’s struggling to walk. I found out about the diagnosis from a family member. My family member is a believer in a war without a gun. In other words, she believes in God, but she thinks all this “talk” about healing is a lot of talk and fluff. I’m required by the commandments to honor her so I have to use a humble approach when we talk and my family member is a very dominant opinionated person who likes to get her way. I love her and accept her as she is and I pray a lot.

I KEEP WATCHING THE LADY WITH CANCER FROM A DISTANCE…

My family member will not allow me to say anything to the lady. It’s supposed to be a secret. I want to run across the street and tell her to hold on that by the stripes of Jesus she is healed, mail her an anonymous healing CD, but I can’t. However, I can pray for her and I do. I can give it God and I did. I can stand in the gap and I do. I can turn her name in to corporate prayer and I will.

I URGE YOU…

This is the first time that I haven’t been bold or pushy, trying to throw someone a life raft of hope in God and helping them to build their faith. I’m handcuffed by someone else’s unbelief and society’s protocol of being polite and I don’t like it.

I PLEAD THE BLOOD…

I plead the Blood of Jesus over this woman and this cancer in her body. I draw a blood circle by faith around her in the Name of Jesus..

I WANT TO RUN AND YELL FROM THE ROOFTOPS:

WAKE UP WORLD!

God is faithful!

THE ONLY THING THAT HAS SUSTAINED ME IN THIS CASE IS WHAT I KNOW ABOUT LOVE.

The Message Bible says:

Corinthians 13

The Way of Love

1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. 3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end. 8-10Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

11When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.

12We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

13But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
