Lord Heal My Heart! By Elaine Davenport November, 2013

AAHEARTBROKEN

Most of the time that we speak of healing, we are talking about sickness and  disease in relation to things sometimes and sometimes not treatable by a medical doctor.  But one of the subjects that we do not often enough speak of is:  a broken heart.   Yet. we all have faced it at one time or another.

Broken relationships,  Family inflicted pain, unexpected loss, severed friendships, unexpected aggression,  business dead ends,  financial woes,  bad decisions, being naive, fractured trust, misunderstandings….

We have to be so careful…but we have the freedom…and the right to say:

Lord…I give it all to You…it’s a faith thing!

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.

John 14:13 ESV

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Mark 11:23 ESV

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Healing And The Fourth Of July! July, 2013

Today presents a wonderful opportunity to set some meaningful traditions.   The Fourth of July is too often a day in which people sleep late, cook and eat.  However, we would not enjoy these freedoms if it weren’t for the many men and women of our armed forces who took on the dangerous jobs of protecting our freedoms.  And we enjoy many.  It would be so nice if there were a way that we could be connected to military families to serve and honor them in some small or large way to let them know that we love them and we are grateful for their fine service.  You must understand that their service is based on love and they are the people who have chosen to step out in faith to do this and by doing so ; they are set apart.  I pray the 91st Psalm for them and I ask you to join me in continuously covering them.  I thank you.

Psalm 91

English Standard Version (ESV)

My Refuge and My Fortress

91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge[b]
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Galatians 5:13

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Do Not Lose Your Hope! October 20, 2012

A great challenge with a heavy load is when sickness and disease present themselves.  But…God can carry the heavy load; all you have to do is ask Him.

I have told this to people and seen them turn around and take the load back.  That does not make any sense…but it’s an individual decision.

I don’t like loads.  So I give them to God.  I’m helpless on the surface sometimes; but God gives me supernaturasl strength to get things done!  God is just waiting to take them from you.

THE SMITH WIGGLESWORTH DEVOTIONAL USES THIS SCRIPTURE UNDER THE HEADING:  “A FRESH VISION FOR EACH NEW DAY.”   I encourage you to obtain this book if you do not already have it.  n an overflow room people got saved right when they stood up and they got healed in their bodies wherever they needed it.  If you have not completely given yourself to God 100%; then do it today and give your body as a willing vessel to God.  Watcg what He can do; move closer!

Final Thought:  ” “No man can have the Trinity Abiding In him and be the same as he was before.”   Smith Wigglesworth

Fight For Freedom! by Elaine Davenport July 4, 2012

I thank God that we live in a country that believes that people must be free.   I thank God for the many people who fought for our initial freedom and our continued freedoms!   Jesis died on the cross so that we would be free from the law of sin and death, poverty, lack and sickness.   Think about that.  Happy Independence Day!

The Love of God is Important To Your Health! June 21, 2012

I’ve met people…and please no offense if this is you.  I have met people who like being sick.  I am not trying to be mean because I know that nobody will ever admit that they like  being sick.   However, if we take a hard look at some people’s actions…that would be a clear conclusion.

I am not talking about people who are not believers.  That is not my platform today.

Okay, so let’s talk about it.  The bible tells us that Jesus is alive today, yesterday and forever.  It tells us that Jesus heals.  It tells us that the Word of God is alive and all powerful.  It tells us that nothing is impossible with God.  It literally explains that the Word can act like a medicine; capable of healing us.  Yet, I don’t see many sick people reading it.  Now, I’ve been sick before and there were days that I sure didn’t feel like anything at all.   nHowever, that was when I did not have this information.
A while back after being diagnosed with a very serious type of cancer; I decided to find out if all of this was true.  So, I stepped over into the faith boat…ready to step out and walk on water so to speak.  You see, I had been told that I did not have time to get a second opinion from a doctor.  So every time that I got another opinion it had to be faith that gave me the courage to proceed because I had been told that “TIME HAD RUN OUT!”

You see, health is important to me.  So, I whipped out my bible, prepared as many scriptures on healing that I could find and began to recite them over and over 3 to 5 times a day.

I ultimately saw three more doctors for their opinions until I decided on utilizing the services of a new doctor in another city at a University hospital.    I did not take a sorrowful attitude with me.  I took my bible and made certain that every nurse and every doctor saw it.  I spoke in faith.  I ministered to them.  I needed a miracle…I got it!

The day after surgery, I was up bright and early PRAISING the Lord with some of the nurses!

When health is important to you…believer…you will stand in faith.  Get in the Word, pray, meditate, confess and be expectant of God to show up.  He is God.  He loves you!

Happy Mother’s Day! May 13, 2012

TODAY IS A DAY OF REST!   THANK YOU LORD!   IT’S BEEN GREAT!

I look up to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord. He is the Maker of heaven and earth. He won’t let your foot slip. He who watches over you won’t get tired. In fact, he who watches over Israel won’t get tired or go to sleep.

“The Lord watches over you. The Lord is like a shade tree at your right hand. The sun won’t harm you during the day. The moon won’t harm you during the night. The Lord will keep you from every kind of harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your life no matter where you go, both now and forever.” (Psalm 121:1-8, NIRV)

I’ve Got A Really Good Question For You! by Gene McGuire December 8, 2011

“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” (2 Cor. 2:15)
DO YOU STAY IN THE BIBLE REGULARLY ENOUGH SO THAT YOU CAN BE THE OVERCOMER THAT GOD INTENDED FOR YOU TO BE ?
___________________________________________________________________________
COMMENT: Some time ago I opened up my Bible and a very pleasant aroma greeted my nostrils. I was really startled for a moment. Had the Lord worked something supernatural with my Bible? Then the truth dawned on me and I had a big laugh at myself. The day before I was reading the Scriptures at the Laundromat; having misplaced my book mark, I used one of my scented fabric softeners. However, that incident reminded me of our Lead Scripture. The illustration is not too far off base because 2 Corinthians 3:3 informs us that “clearly you are an epistle of Christ [a letter from Christ], ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” Our godly behavior should be the sweet fragrance that will attract others to the Kingdom of God.
SCRIPTURE STUDY: Matthew 5:13-16
WISE SAYING: BE CAREFUL, YOU MAY BE THE ONLY BIBLE THAT SOME PEOPLE WILL EVER READ.
Sincerely Yours, Gene McGuire
