Prayer Warrior 101 (Session 4- Healing) January 26- Feb. 3, 2010

Welcome back!

Before we start…pray and ask God to give you a heart for the sick. We have no idea specifically why people get sick other than there is sin in the earth.  Yes, some may not have taken care of themselves, but it is not our call.

One of the most critical areas that a prayer warrior must be strong in is in the area of Healing.  You must be rooted in Healing Scriprures and armed to help people equip themselves.  You see, a prayer warrior doesn’t just pray; a prayer warrior ministers and teaches with great humility.  God uses us; and He does the work.  He provides the electricity and the heat.  He’s the source.  Never think that it’s you. Pride could allow you to feel pretty good when people try to give you credit, but do not entertain it for one minute! Point them to God.

I once wrote a poem for a dear aunt of mine!  She was beautiful.  As I prayed for her and wrote the Lord began to provide the words.  I travel through three states to go to her 80th birthday party to read that poem.  It was powerful!  It was electric!  Everyone said so.

Well, she died some years after and they called and asked me to write a poem.  I wasn’t even writing poems then or going to church.  I write some lines that looked pretty good to me.  My mother later told me that there was no electricity; no fire in those words.  They were just so so. There was no anointing.  The anointing is the power of God.

So let’s look at some Healing scriptures that are important:

PROVERBS 4:20-23 NKJ
20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

Here the word health means medicine.

EXODUS 15:26 NKJ
26 . . . I am the Lord who heals you.”

EXODUS 23:25 NKJ
25 “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

DEUTERONOMY 7:15 NKJ
15 “And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, . . . .

PSALM 103:2-3 NKJ
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

ISAIAH 53:4-5 NKJ
4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

MATTHEW 4:23 NKJ
23 Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

MATTHEW 8:17 NKJ
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

MARK 16:17-18 NKJ
17 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 “. . . they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

GALATIANS 3:13 NKJ
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

JAMES 5:15 NKJ
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

1 PETER 2:24 NKJ
24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed.

You must memorize as many scriptures frm the bible on healing as possible!  God will help you.  You must read the bible and study scriptures on any area necessary until you have a solid understanding of how God feels about it!  This is so.  When you become firmly convinced and persuaded; you are in faith; no matter what you hear in terms of a diagnosis.

In praying for the sick; it is sometimes a challenge because the devil would have you to buy into the diagnosis of whatever the doctor says.  We do believe in doctor’s.  It is just that we value God’s word more.  Be polite, keep a low profile, do not be boisterous and stand in faith.  Have no one look at you…but a God.  When people ask you what God will do; tell then that His will be done and ask them to stand in faith.

On a personal note; I have become so sad at so many young women dying of various forms of cancer…who decide not to undergo doctor’s recommendations and some have died.  But, I will also say that many have lived.  I am a prayer intercessor never to get between God and the person lest my flesh come alive and I say the wrong thing.  So pray for wisdom each and every day in your prayers.

You may find yourself being asked to go pray with the sick at their homes, in hospitals or by mail or phone.  Do not decline an opportunity to build another person up spiritually and encourage them.  But, point them to God, do not lie let the Holy Spirit lead you in all that you do or say.  Do not go to see anyone that is sick without prior prayer and sometimes fasting may also be necessary.

This is a time when you ought to research and find out as much as you can about the power of prayer and fasting..

I am certain that I could say a lot more, but you will have your own experiences and all of them may not be what was expected.

I once went to pray for a dear friend who was in the hospital; and as soon as I finished  she got incredibly worse; almost immediately. I was heartbroken.  Just before she got worse; I had yelled in a loud voice:  “We seal this place with The Blood Of Jesus!”

I am certain the devil would have killed her were it not for the Blood.

For several weeks thereafter I read healing scriptures around the clock on her behalf until she was better.  I will not lie; it was tough, but I learned the faithfulness of God!

Exercise:

Write some Healing Prayers and keep them in a notebook that you can get to.

Memorize 10 new Healing scriptures in a week or in a month, but do it.

Challenge:  Begin to visit nursing homes to pray with family friends or relatives.

Countries From Around The Globe Rush To Haiti ! January 13, 2010

We ask for your prayers specifically  for the people of  Haiti.   Please pray for the rescue efforts, for food, water  and medical  supplies to be expedited to reach the necessary destinations.  Please pray that the lost will be found, the injured will be treated, that there will be no corruption, for goodwill, for the extreme poverty in the land to cease.    When you read the article below; other prayer points will become obvious.  Many thanks for your efforts and pray that political divisions will not hamper the relief efforts of our nations to assist.    Well over 100 Catholic priests were killed in the earthquake. We pray for physical, emotional, fiscal, spiritual and political healing for that land. We pray that the church community will find a way to help in a very big way.  We pray for God’s grace and His mercy in Jesus Name.

Look for Help For Haiti

The world has amassed an incredible rescue effort including:  rescue teams from China, Iceland and France, Haiti’s onetime colonial ruler; aid flights and 3 million euros ($4.35 million) from Spain; doctors from Cuba; and a field hospital from Russia.  The United Nations has released 10 million Dollars and The World Bank has released 100 million dollars.    It is also important to note that many countries had previously pledged money to Haiti   that was due before the earthquake; and were behind on their fulfilling the commitments and were called upon by former President Bill Clinton to get up to date on those pledges.

Our hearts and our prayers go out to the citizens of Haiti.  Earlier reports indicated that they were hit ten miles outside of Port-Au=Prince which is their capital.  No one knew the extent of the damage because it happened at nighttime and communications were limited.

Now, it has been reported that the devastation was enormous.    The Presidential Palace in Port Au Prince was completely toppled.  More than one hospital has collapsed.  Estimates are that some  30,00 to  100,000 people are believed to be dead.    Rescuers are having a difficult time reaching or even identifying survivors because the streets are not cleared.  The president of Haiti; Rene Preval; a former Prime Minister in that country has put out a call for immediate help. 

According to CNN, the power of this earthquake can be equated to several nuclear bombs.  Some 3 million people were affected by the quake which is  about 1/3 of the total population.

We ask for your prayers as  humanitarian groups  are pressed to get medical supplies into the inner rung and have been hampered by cluttered roads, chaos and debris.

They have noted a complete lack of heavy machinery to get in and remove ruble which will allow them to complete the task of picking up all of the dead bodies.

Also among the dead was Joseph Serge Miot, the Roman Catholic archbishop of Port-au-Prince, according to the official Vatican newspaper. The archbishop was buried beneath rubble along with 100 priests and aspiring priests attending a religious conference, Papal Nuncio Bernardito Auza told the Vatican’s Fides news agency.  Our prayers go out to those families and the entire Catholic community.

They need food, water and medical supplies on an urgent level!

** In other news, Pat Robertson appeared on the 700 club with a long discourse on Haiti having made a deal with the devil to release itself from French rule.  Our response to this; is that cannot be our focus at this time.

Miracles in 2010! January 17-24, 2010

Miracles aren’t hard to come by…I’ve certainly had my share…almost  whenever I need one. My doctor still talks about my getting my sight back last year…it stumped him. Not me.

No matter what the miracle is…you have to plug in to God…plug into the bible…plug into prayer…plug in to hear what God says to do…and do it…do your due diligence and get your miracle!

He who earnestly seeks good finds favor. Proverbs 11:27

You’re in a Miracle Season. I just wanted to write to tell you that many prayers have been sent up for you. I pray that you do know that all is well with you and your loved ones; everyone that you care about, no matter what it looks like.

Through many hours of prayer, I’ve been praying for everyone that gets this letter. Yes, that includes you! I just want to ask you:

“Have things been going your way?” You know, when things go the way that I want them to- it is a VERY good day. I like having good days; most people do. Do you?

Favor can affect you in a very small way or in a very big way. It happens to us all of the time and many of us (not everyone) never give it-this instance of favor even the slightest recognition.

I’ve been working on starting two businesses for over a year. These businesses both have to do with furthering God’s plan here in the earth. They can’t be launched together because one is entirely dependent on the success of the other. However, at the time of the initial planning stages; I encountered a
strong challenge. In reality to other people, the challenge would have
been insurmountable. However, I knew that it was minor because
it wasn’t my idea to start it.

It was a God idea so I knew He could handle it.

When I met with the Project Developer; I found out so much more

about favor.

For whoever finds Me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD. Proverbs 8:35

When I was given the cost sheet; it was exactly right. For what I needed to do- this was a miracle! As new things came up (more expensive things); I was given great leniency and goodwill. The favor came continuously and still continues though the project is almost complete. I put my faith into action everyday and I start early; and I don’t quit; no matter how I feel. The people working with me do that as well. They are faith people so they understand. Miracle after miracle came and I just had to trust and lean on God. When you really think about it; it’s easy to lean on God. I am pleased to say that I learned some wonderful things. (I can’t wait until I get a release to tell you more about it all; but I can tell you God will have His way.) I learned through this experience to do right all of the time. When I did the right things-favor came. I’m not saying this like this is easy. Even if your mind is fixed, things come up but you just have to stay focused. I also learned to follow the rules and that obedience is critical.
PLEASE…
A lot of you know the story of Esther in the bible. It’s not a very long story but it is a story that well illustrates Gods’ favor. Esther who could have easily become an orphan without a future; led a favored and faith filled lifestyle which eventually led to her becoming queen. At a point in time, the test and trial came to Esther and her people and she; for her part; had to decide whether to turn her back on her people or to trust God. Esther put her faith into action and received favor. Not just a little favor; but enough FAVOR to spare her life and the lives of the Jewish people in her town. Esther knew what favor could do; and that knowledge enhanced her faith; her faith caused her to act and her acting caused the miracles to flow forth.

You need a combination of things working together to bring forth the miracle that you need; the miracle that God has for you.

With all of this talk about favor, I got to thinking one day recently. I asked myself: “Are you favoring God?” Are you giving Him special treatment? Are you biased towards and for Him all the time? I know that I can’t do for God what He does for me; but I can do what He expects of me and I know that my obedience, my putting Him first is a good way for me to give Him favor. I know that it is essential! It’s crucial! It’s love.

I just want to encourage you to consider favor to be a two sided coin and to encourage you to show God just how much favor that you have for Him. I am so thankful for people like you, I really am. PLEASE PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION!

That’s easy…Get God’s attention…show Him your faith!

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10: 32-33

Dear Heavenly Father, I am not ashamed of you. In fact, quite the contrary. I love you. You are First in my life. You are my daybreak, my daylight, my light and with you there is no night. Blessed Father, I pray this day for the misguided people. Someone must pray for you. I am asking you today to send your laborers to them. Many think that you and all the other Gods are one God. To hear the vain philosophies of civilization, we sound like the ancient Greeks. You are the true and living God and your sheep hear your voice. Yet, there is a misconception among men that we all have the same God no matter what the belief. Some think Jesus is a prophet O LORD. Please help them to understand that he is the Messiah and no one comes to the Father except through him. Let our words of truth from your Holy book fall on willing ears. Let us all be able to boldly confess you to all men. AMEN

Don’t Quit! by Elaine Davenport January 14, 2010

There are many people who think that no one cares about them.  They get sick, depressed or a negative doctor’s report and they just want to quit…but you can’t; I’ll tell you why!

Blessings to you my friend today. All is well. I am delighted to be able to speak to you today to encourage you. I am glad that there is a light around you and that your love is far-reaching without exception. Yes, I know that I don’t see you very much and my plan to keep in touch with you falls short sometimes; but I care about you. I have some very special words for you today. This is why you have this letter.

You know, even though you may not ever hear this or maybe you do but just not enough…you’re a great person. You have special talents and only you can do some things that no one else can do. This makes you very unique. Many have noticed. Sometimes you have this way about you of cracking a joke or saying something witty or wise that no one but you could pull off. Sometimes it’s just a smile or a laugh. It makes those of us who know you, feel rewarded. When this happens we all say that you’re special and we’re very glad that we know you. Did I ever tell you that you are also generous? You are greatly capable of giving of yourself, your time, your energy, your compassion to those around you. Let’s talk about those talents that you have. Not the known ones but the ones yet to come: the creative and generous things that you think that you’ll do one day.

Let me tell you that we all have those kinds of ideas. I was amazed when someone told me that God puts those ideas right there in your heart. Really. Psalm 37: verse 4 says: “Delight yourselves in the Lord and he will give you the hidden desires of your heart.” I found this to be true as I began to delight in God, He began to give me my hidden desires in my heart. It surely is a good thing.

My main purpose for writing to you is to tell you how much God loves you. It’s a lot. He loves you. YOU ARE the apple of God’s eye. He wants you well, healthy and whole with everything in your life in place…EVERYTHING. You are special. I just wanted to tell you that God knows it and I know it too.
