The Only “Attitude” I Need! by E. Davenport February, 2014

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8: 32faithtalklpI have a chip on my shoulder!   I dare the devil to even think about knocking it of!   He better not even try!   He better stay in his territory!   I’m covered by the Blood of Jesus!   What about you?

The only attitude I ever want to be known for is the attitude of faith…most especially for my healing…we serve a God who heals.  Nothing else!   Point Blank!    #ibelievethebible

2014: Wipe The Slate Clean! By Elaine Davenport January, 2014

AAACLEANSLATE

Happy New Year’s From Cafe Sozo!    Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to tell you something worthwhile as a result of your doing so.

Insurance companies often call catastrophes acts of God!   That’s a lie!  So unfortunately some people think that when bad things happen to them; it’s God‘s fault.  Not true.

Most of us are totally unaware that we have sickness in our bodies, in our minds, in our families , in our bank accounts…and the list goes on…even spiritually.  That fact the a person has gone to church for ten, twenty, thirty years or so is no guarantee of (spiritual) sharpness; yet if you walk into any church…you can easily find people who act or believe it’s about loyalty… to the church or pastor or belonging to a clique.  God doesn’t quite see it that way…so there is healing (and correction needed)

Physically many carry sickness in their bodies for years without detection until they get the news.  While others ignore warning symptoms operating in delusion or denial.

Financially, many people live over their means, buying things they cannot afford until the monthly payout far exceeds what comes in.

We live in a society where people want quick answers, take shortcuts and often find themselves in a position where pressure is being applied upon them as individuals even if it’s not their fault.

With all of these scenarios…God has answers.  He can heal you, me, the situations and give us a way out.   Just say a prayer and ask for help.  That’s the first step.

Exodus 23:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
You shall serve the Lord your God; He shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your midst.

Deuteronomy 7:15 Amplified Bible (AMP)
And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you knew will He put upon you, but will lay them upon all who hate you.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live and may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Joshua 21:45 God’s Word Translation
Every single good promise that the LORD had given the nation of Israel came true.

1 Kings 8:56 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Blessed be the Lord, Who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all His good promise which He promised through Moses His servant.

Psalm 89:34 God’s Word Translation
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Psalm 91:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Psalm 103:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,

Lord Heal My Heart! By Elaine Davenport November, 2013

AAHEARTBROKEN

Most of the time that we speak of healing, we are talking about sickness and  disease in relation to things sometimes and sometimes not treatable by a medical doctor.  But one of the subjects that we do not often enough speak of is:  a broken heart.   Yet. we all have faced it at one time or another.

Broken relationships,  Family inflicted pain, unexpected loss, severed friendships, unexpected aggression,  business dead ends,  financial woes,  bad decisions, being naive, fractured trust, misunderstandings….

Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me. (Psalm 40:13)

Hearing From God! by Elaine Davenport September 30, 2013

I wrote this article for one reason only. To ask you a question.  Can you Hear From God?

There are three answers:  yes,no  and sometimes.  The last answer is the most challenging.    Yes, all the time must be our answer and this is true even if we have to work harder.

The natural man wants to work alone without direction.  So, if you make up your mind to hear what God has to say you can expect distractions.

If you can’t hear anything at all…I challenge you to find out why.

In these tough times, hearing from God is more critical than ever!healing-and-restoration

The Night I Could Have Died! by Elaine Davenport August 31, 2013

AOVEREATER

1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 6:19 ESV

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

I went out of town quite recently after much prayer.  If anything saved me from the things that lied ahead of me…it was the hours of prayer…and God’s grace and mercy.

A lot of things happen to us as a result of our disobedience.  Though it is not popular to admit it…a lot of times we miss the mark.

Before I went out of town, a strong feeling came over me not to eat any hamburgers on my trip.

That sounds strange doesn’t eat.  I do not eat hamburgers normally but for some reason I found myself thinking about how great they must be at my destination.  So, I had one and then two.  After the second one…I got deathly ill in the middle of the night…something like a heart attack.  Pain that could not be ignored. I sat up in the bed and prayed for well over an hour.  I apologized to God..  I had missed it.  Many times we will get a warning and we will override it…my prayer is that none of us ever do that again…in Jesus Name.

JAMES 1: 12

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Healing And The Fourth Of July! July, 2013

Today presents a wonderful opportunity to set some meaningful traditions.   The Fourth of July is too often a day in which people sleep late, cook and eat.  However, we would not enjoy these freedoms if it weren’t for the many men and women of our armed forces who took on the dangerous jobs of protecting our freedoms.  And we enjoy many.  It would be so nice if there were a way that we could be connected to military families to serve and honor them in some small or large way to let them know that we love them and we are grateful for their fine service.  You must understand that their service is based on love and they are the people who have chosen to step out in faith to do this and by doing so ; they are set apart.  I pray the 91st Psalm for them and I ask you to join me in continuously covering them.  I thank you.

Psalm 91

English Standard Version (ESV)

My Refuge and My Fortress

91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge[b]
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Galatians 5:13

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Jesus Was And Is Busier Than Any Doctor! June, 2013

ABEDETERMINEDIf you read the Four Gospels  about the travels of Jesus it is absolutely an amazing story of truth.  There is something so beautiful in there for us all.  Yet, I love so much the way the 8th Chapter of the Book of Luke captures it all.  Jesus went from teaching to healing, to helping, to delivering people to raising the dead and so much more!   He never said:  “Look, I’m tired…it’s been a long day…come back tomorrow.  He  was always ready…because he always stayed before The Father!    There is a lesson for us all in there.

Please allow me to humbly get off on a side note.  The scariest part to seeing the behavior of many Christians has been “our” juggling and trying to find a balance between politeness, meekness, humility and being overly passive when it comes to things of the faith.

WHATEVER YOU WANT; IT IS AVAILABLE TO YOU!  The Bible says so and I know that it is true.  But WE have to be passionate about what we want, determined to get it and WE CAN’T…No, we won’t take No for an answer!

READ THE STORY of the woman with the issue of Blood and her determination.  I hope it fires you up and inspires you!!!!!

Luke 8 (King James Version)

Luke 8

King James Version (KJV)

8 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
